This drawing is based on a fragment of Bowerbird Dreamcoat, a textile work constructed from our family’s discarded blue garments and fabrics stitched into circular basahan forms and assembled into a child-sized pair of wings.

Part of an ongoing body of work exploring the basahan — the household rag common throughout the Philippines — as a material of care, repair, reuse and transformation.
